- Buy different fragrances for daytime and evening
- Try our body care products (shower gels, deodorants etc) – give them a body lotion sample. Remember even if we do not do a body care product in their favourite FM fragrance then they could still select one from a similar family group
- Try new fragrances that we launch from time to time
- Try fragrances they haven’t tried yet from our range, give them a free sample with their order
- Review a product or fragrance for you
You can also encourage future orders by:
- Staying in regular contact
- Letting them know about any special offers and new products
- Doing an email newsletter for your customers to keep them up to date
- Giving them a coupon for a discount off a repeat order
- Offering a small cash back on empty bottles
- Putting a sticker on every box or bottle saying “If this runs out, give me a shout (along with your name and phone number)”
- Wearing a fragrance they may like when you see them
- Keep wearing different fragrances if they are someone you see regularly (you should keep changing the FM fragrance you use anyway as that way people will notice you are wearing something different and it gives you a chance to tell them about FM)
- Having one of our hand creams with you and offering them some to try when you use it
Repeat Orders from Recommendations
The most obvious way to turn one customer into many customers is of course to ask them to have a party for you, parties work extremely well and allow you the opportunity to show a group of people our products at the same time.
If you know and trust your customers you can also lend them the kit / samples for a few days and ask them to take them into their workplace for you and / or show them to their family and friends. When they generate orders for you, you could give them a free product as a thank you depending on the size of the order.
You could tell all your customers if they find a new customer for you that you will give them 50p or £1 off their next purchase for each customer they find, not only does this increase your orders and customer base but it also encourages the original customer to purchase something new from you.
If you are just starting out with the business you could ask friends if they would purchase one of very reasonably priced fragrances or other products from you to help you get started and also to evaluate the product for you (people love giving opinions, I know I do!).
Keep a record of your customers, index cards are brilliant for this. Note their name, address, telephone numbers, email, purchases made, any details they have given you which may lead to repeat orders, for example where they work, their birthday, partner’s name, partner’s birthday. Before birthdays are due you could suggest gifts from FM that their partner may like or even, if you know the partner, suggest to the partner a gift that they could buy for your customer from our range. Men especially will appreciate this, having someone tell you a gift that the woman in your life will like is fantastic and saves us the headache of working out what to buy! You can also do the same thing in suggesting Christmas gifts.
Keep reminding customers as well that our products are high quality, yet very affordable, making them ideal gifts for family or friends’ birthdays etc.
